What is PlayBright Academy?

What ages are PlayBright Academy programs for?

Does my child need previous sports experience?
No. Previous sports experience is not required. Our programs are designed for beginners and children with different levels of confidence, coordination and experience. Coaches adapt activities to help children participate, learn and enjoy themselves at their own level.
Is PlayBright Academy a competitive sports program?
No. PlayBright Academy is focused on participation, skill development and enjoyment rather than competition. Children are encouraged to try new activities, develop confidence, work with others and celebrate their own progress.

What sports and activities do children participate in?
Activities vary depending on the program and season. PlayBright programs may introduce children to sports and movement activities such as basketball, soccer, hockey, volleyball, handball, racket sports and other age-appropriate games.

YOUR CHILD'S EXPERIENCE
What if my child is shy or nervous?
That is completely okay. Some children need time to feel comfortable in a new environment. Our coaches use encouragement, games and age-appropriate activities to help children gradually become comfortable and involved. Children are not expected to be confident immediately. Building confidence is part of the PlayBright experience.
What if my child has never played a sport before?
That is absolutely fine. PlayBright programs are designed to be accessible to beginners. Activities are introduced in a fun, age-appropriate way, and children are encouraged to participate at their own level.
What if my child is still developing their coordination or movement skills?
Children develop at different rates, and our activities are designed to accommodate different levels of ability and experience.
Coaches provide encouragement and guidance while helping children practise fundamental movement skills through games and play.
What if my child does not want to participate in an activity?
Children can sometimes feel hesitant when trying something new. Our coaches encourage participation without creating unnecessary pressure. We aim to help children feel safe, supported and comfortable enough to gradually try new activities. Who coaches PlayBright Academy programs?
PlayBright Academy programs are led by coaches and instructors who work with children in a positive, encouraging and age-appropriate environment. Our coaching approach focuses on safety, participation, skill development and creating a positive experience for every child.
How many children are in each group?
Group sizes and the child-to-coach ratio vary depending on the specific program, location and session. We structure our programs to provide a safe, engaging environment where children receive appropriate guidance and support from the coaching team.
How are children supervised?
